All parts supplied by PC-FIXED are brand new unless stated or requested by the Customer. Brand new parts come with a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty, commencing from the date the item was purchased by PC-FIXED.

Pre-used equipment such as laptops and PCs sold as Refurbished are sold as seen and are covered by a 30-day warranty.

The warranty on any hardware will be voided if any sticker placed on the warrantable equipment is removed, broken, or tampered with.

Equipment is only covered for faulty workmanship on parts, and for parts that fail due to manufacturing defects recognised by the component manufacturer. This warranty does not cover the failure of equipment due to the system not being used in accordance with the manufactures guidelines or failure from “fair wear and tear”.  Please note: portable devices such as external hard disks and memory sticks are will be excluded from warranty if they show any signs of physical damage.

Damage to a system or components, supplied by PC-FIXED, caused by power surges or spikes, including and not limited to, mains power and telecommunications connections, or to other unspecified sources, voltage fluctuation, amperage fluctuation, rust or corrosion, are not covered under warranty.

Warranties do not cover loss or damage due to negligence, accidents, theft, flood, fire, earthquakes, electrical storms or any other act of God or any war-related events.

PC-FIXED reserves the right to suspend or cancel warranties for failure to pay monies owing to PC-Fixed as a result of non-warranty work being carried out on a system at the request of the warranty holder by anyone other than PC-FIXED.

All work is covered by a labour only 30-day software warranty. If the same problem re-occurs within 30 days of the original repair (stated on the invoice), PC-Fixed will only charge for any additional parts that may be required. Excludes faults caused by software, virus and end-user errors. Individual Hardware Parts are all covered by our standard 12 Month warranty

Any repair performed on an item under warranty whereby no fault can be found, or the fault is not covered under warranty (i.e. software, virus, end user error or other non-warranty cause herein stated) a standard call out fee may be payable by the warranty holder at the usual hourly rate.

PC-FIXED reserves the right to change these conditions at any time without notice.

Customer supplied parts (CSP)

Customers are welcome to supply their own parts or equipment for fitting/installing/configuring by PC-FIXED. Please note in such cases, PC-FIXED will only warranty the labour involved.  Should a CSP develop a fault or fail within its warranty period the customer will be responsible for negotiating and expediting returns and or refunds with their supplier.  Where the customer requests PC-FIXED to act on their behalf this will be chargeable. Furthermore, if this involves further work for PC-FIXED to extract the faulty part and to install the replacement this will also be chargeable.

No-Fix, No-Fee

No fee will apply if we cannot offer a viable fix, or we deem the problem to be beyond economical repair.

To qualify for our No-Fix, -No-Fee policy, the customer must allow PC-FIXED sufficient time and access to the computer to diagnose and fix the stated problem, (this includes return-to-base PC repair). If the customer does not allow sufficient time before a diagnosis can be made, they will be billed by the hour.

It is at the technician’s discretion whether or not a repair is possible. Once a diagnosis has been determined, we will offer one or more options to affect a fix including associated costs. If none of the offered options are taken, we reserve the right to charge a fee for the diagnosis which will be based on the time spent to that point. Please note that full payment of the diagnosis fee will be payable before the item is returned.

Additional fees apply if a customer sources their own replacement parts and we are asked to fit them.

No-Fix, No-Fee does not apply to time spent attempting to fix third-party, customer-written, or bespoke applications. Customers will be charged the normal hourly rate for attempting repairs to these apps.

Laptop disclaimer

Laptop computers are full computer systems squeezed into very small packages!  Consequently, they often run hotter than desktop computers and, unfortunately, heat is the enemy of a computer – it shortens the life of the machine and, more importantly, it also means that plastic parts, connectors, and wiring can become very brittle.

Laptops can also get more physical handling than desktop machines and get bumped, banged or even dropped. While your machine may look as if it escaped from those ‘oops’ moments, it can be a different story inside the machine where you can’t see. Little hooks, clips and other bits that hold panels and components together may be cracked, damaged, or broken completely.

As a result, disassembling your laptop may result in one or more parts or connectors failing. Most of the time this isn’t an issue, but if it does happen we will contact you and let you know your options.

PC-FIXED cannot accept liability for anything that breaks during the servicing of your laptop. We will, of course, take care to minimise any possible damage and will attempt to source economically viable replacement parts and let you know their cost. In this event, we will seek your approval before proceeding further.

By asking us to diagnose and or repair a laptop fault,  you acknowledge that you are absolving PC-FIXED from any liability in the event that something breaks, or is found to be broken, during the service of your machine and that you will not hold us responsible for any damages real or consequential as a result.

Also, you understand that in the event that a breakage occurs, there will be an unknown delay in completing the work subject to approvals and sourcing replacement parts.
